Zumba puts zip into wet Saturday

It might have been a wet old Saturday at Byron Bay, but it didn’t stop members and supporters of the Byron Bay Breast Cancer Support Group joining in a zumba fitness routine in Railway Park.

People passing by in Jonson Street were delighted to see the women – and a couple of brave blokes – join instructor Kathleen Boyne from Byron Gym in the routine.

It was all part of Byron Breast Cancer Day activities organised by Byron Bay Breast Cancer Support group in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

A ‘Minefield of Women’ – pink silhouettes – were placed in the ground to represent women with breast cancer.

This year’s annual WOW Film Festival at Byron Bay will be a fundraiser for the Byron Bay Breast Cancer Support group.

The festival will be held at the Byron Bay Community Centre from October 30 to December 4.
