Young artists brush up for show

Pupils at Byron Bay Public School have been feverishly wielding paint brushes to create works for the school’s first ‘Movies and Masterpieces’ fund-raising event.

More than 250 students have entered the art competition which will be launched tomorrow night at the school. Their works will be joined in the exhibition by those of local artists, including David Bromley.

Compere for the night will be Mandy Nolan, who will also auction donated artworks.

Doors open at 6pm. Admission is $10.

Saturday night will be a family night and will feature an outdoor screening on a giant inflatable screen of ‘Ice Age 3’.

There will be a barbecue, entertainment and a chance to win a holiday to New Zealand.

Family tickets are $25, adults $10 and children $5.
