Women find Balinese bliss

BLISS Sanctuary for Women is a new Balinese sanctuary located near Seminyak, designed specifically to cater for women wanting a relaxing, and rejuvenating break.

Bliss Sanctuary for Women is the first of its kind in Bali - it is a bespoke sanctuary that allows guests to design their own holiday experience. It’s not a retreat with activities planned every day, deadlines to meet and food monitoring, but a sanctuary in the true sense of the word where each visitor can indulge in food, pampering, local travel experiences and the true essence of Bali.

Australian businesswoman and founder Zoë Watson says, “I first became inspired to develop a womens’ only sanctuary after taking some time out in Bali a few years ago. I was burnt out with work, needed a break and just wanted some sunshine and warmth, to enjoy a slower place and to recharge the batteries.”

“Travelling on my own however, I wasn’t aware of how to truly enjoy Bali. I found it difficult to get around and know where to eat - the sort of information that a local or resident can share with you, hence I ordered room service for many of my meals.”

Bliss Sanctuary for Women was therefore developed based somewhat on Zoë’s own experiences and research. The only rule she has to ensure a comforting, relaxing, and safe environment is: no couples, no men, no children and only a handful of women at any one time.

It is important for women to take time out – from work, from partners, from their children and from everyday life. The Bliss experience is about nurturing women and catering to their needs.

“I personally meet with guests and design programs as requested, you tell me what you are looking for, what you want and I will deliver that personalised experience to you,” says Watson.

Situated amongst rice paddies and only a five minute walk from the beach, the villas have been selected and designed to create an environment befitting the Bliss Sanctuary for Women name.

The Bliss Sanctuary for Women villas offer a unique and beautiful Balinese experience with modern comforts, a sparkling pool, private rooms with oversized beds, and daily massages.

Included in the Bliss Sanctuary for Women stay are personal drivers who will collect you from the airport and are available to take you on your journey, whether that be shopping, yoga, meditation or some of the more unusual and undiscovered sites of Bali. Plus all meals are supplied with an amazing selection of Balinese fresh food menu choices.

The Bliss Sanctuary for Women caters for all women – young, young at heart, busy professionals, groups of friends, mothers and daughters.

Watson says, “Often my guests are so busy in their everyday life, the thought of actually arranging everything that goes into a trip is a complete turnoff, so we go to great lengths to make sure their time out does not turn into yet another job.”

Fortunately for the Sanctuary’s guests, Bliss starts from the moment they make the booking. Bliss Sanctuary For Women can discuss everything with guests before they arrive.

“Many of my guests email me beforehand, and by the time they arrive we feel like we’re close friends. This connection makes my guests feel safe about staying at Bliss Sanctuary for Women and gives them confidence and reassurance that this is going to be a hassle free and calming experience for them,” says Watson.

Prices for a one week stay at Bliss Sanctuary For Women start at $1,750, plus taxes, and includes daily massages, spa treatments, breakfast, lunch and dinner plus airport transfers. All rooms have their own bathroom and Bali Bliss toiletries.
