Neighbours assist crash victim as firies cut into car

UPDATE: Neighbours rushed to assist a woman who was stuck in her car after a traffic crash in Wilsonton today.

Station officer Scott Frame said the female driver of a Mazda was trapped in her vehicle when emergency services arrived.

"She had possible neck injuries and we decided to remove the whole driver side of the vehicle to give the ambulance access to remove the casualties," he said.

"She wasn't entrapped, she was encapsulated but because of possible injuries we took the action."

Nearby residents rushed to assist the crash victims.

"Neighbours had a blanket and clothing over driver of the Mazda prior to us arriving which was really good to see," officer Frame said.

"They reassured her until we arrived."

At this stage it's unclear how the crash happened.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was able to leave their vehicle.

The driver is being assessed by paramedics and will be transported to Toowoomba Hospital.

EARLIER: A woman is trapped in her vehicle in Wilsonton after a crash this afternoon.

The two vehicle crash took place at Cessna St, Wilsonton at about 12.40pm.

Emergency services are rushing to the scene to assist the crash victims.
