Woman rushed to hospital after serious crash

A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening head injuries after a single vehicle crash near Bowen today.

The forensic crash unit are investigating the crash, which occurred on the Bruce Hwy near Splitters Creek, a police spokesperson said.

A passing motorist notified police of the crash just after 7.10am, the spokesperson said.

The woman, who is in her mid-20s was transported to Bowen Hospital.

The Bruce Hwy is currently closed while investigations are underway.

There are no further details at this stage.
