Woman in hospital after car drives off building

ONE woman has serious injuries after a car drove off the second storey of a car park building in Christchurch.

Emergency services were called to Northlands Mall in Papanui shortly after 7pm last night.

The car had driven off the second storey of the car park with at least two people inside, according to police.

A St John spokesman said one woman managed to get herself out, but another was trapped in the car and sustained serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital.

Circumstances of the accident were not yet known.
