Woman airlifted after single-vehicle crash at Bucca

A WOMAN has been admitted to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital after a single vehicle crash on Bucca Rd this morning.

At around 11:30am police, ambulance, RFS and SES crews rushed to a section of Bucca Rd, about 2kms west of Randalls Rd, in response to the crash.

It is believed the vehicle - a Mitstubishi hatchback - left the road and collided with a tree after the driver lost control of the vehicle in the wet conditions.

Emergency services found the sole occupant of the car - a 52-year-old female driver - trapped inside the vehicle.

Crews worked to free the woman who according to NSW Ambulance District Inspector Andrew Chapman had sustained medium to serious head injuries.

The woman has been admitted to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a critical condition.

Bucca Rd was temporarily closed in both directions as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
