WITH flowing blonde hair, blue eyes and glowing bronzed skin, Bec Ronald looks born to grace the pages of fashion magazines.
But the 19-year-old face of Billabong Australia does not consider herself a model.
The former Sunshine Coast girl says she is an ambassador for healthy lifestyles.
“The message I want to deliver is all about making the right decisions in life,” she said.
“Respect yourself, take care of your body and be happy.
“There is so much evil out there, don't fall for the lies other girls or the media might tell you.
“Dream big and go after it and do what your heart desires.”
Bec's philosophy has paved the road to international success.
Next week she will head to Ibiza, off the coast of Spain, for a photo shoot with Billabong Europe.
It is a big step towards becoming the global face of Billabong.
“I am really excited,” Bec said.
“It will be a whirlwind trip, two days to get there, two days of work, two days of rest and two days to get home, but loads of fun.
“There will only be two other girls there, both from America.”
Bec is also a Queensland finalist in the search for Miss Universe Australia.
If she beats her 30 competitors and becomes Miss Universe Australia, she could follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Hawkins, Rachel Finch and Erin McNaught.
Bec, who completed Year 12 at Mountain Creek State School, says she hopes to use her profile to become an inspirational speaker for teenagers.
“I have had some amazing experiences with Billabong,” she said.
“I was blessed to be sent to Hawaii.
“It really was the most special, liberating, fun and accomplishing trip I have done so far as I surfed Pipeline and other reef breaks that really tested me.”
