Why Karise will win The Voice

THERE'S one simple reason why I think young blues singer Karise Eden will win The Voice tonight - iTunes.

With every download of a singer's song counting for two votes, it's the most powerful tool for fans to get behind their favourite finalist.

As of noon today, when voting for the inaugural Voice winner closed, Eden had five songs in the Top 10 iTunes Voice chart, including the number one and number two spots.

I think her popularity on the iTunes charts will be more than enough to cancel out any effect by the possible overseas support of Joel Madden and wife Nicole Ritchie's considerable Twitter following.

Eden has also been the odds favourite with the bookies ever since the four finalists were determined.

TomWaterhouse.com currently has Eden at 1.57 odds to win, while SportsBet has her at even better odds on 1.16.

Tonight's live grand final show will feature all four finalists - Eden, Darren Percival, Rachael Leahcar and Sarah de Bono - singing duets with their celebrity coaches.

The show will also feature a performance by a surprise "special guest", the identity of which Nine has been keeping under tight wraps.

The guest performer will follow Lionel Ritchie's duet with son-in-law Madden on last night's show.

The pair performed Ritchie's hit Easy (On Sunday Morning), which didn't suit Madden's rocker voice but their on-stage chemistry was a joy to watch.
