Werewolves put bite on Hobbits

Last Wednesday night Red Devil Park was the venue for the Byron Bay touch football competition final between the buffed-up boys from the Byron Gym Hobbits and the not-so-pretty Werewolves.

With the Werewolves having a history of 35 years of touch football, they know looks count for little on the touch footy field and a full moon rising over Red Devil Park had them ready to howl.

The game started at a torrid pace and at the end of the first 25-minute half the score was one-all.

The second half saw tries disallowed for both sides, with the game played in a highly competitive spirit.

Full-time score Wolves 3 Byron Gym 2.

Best players for Byron Gym were Chappy, Eli and Barnsey. Best for Wolves were Billy, ‘Cameron Smith’, Kane, Bommy, Blake and all senior Wolves. Thanks to the referees Swartzy and Hummer who did an excellent job.
