Rockhampton beauty queen primes herself for next big break

SHE may prefer the catwalk, but it's small things like the morning dog walk that Rockhampton's next international supermodel likes to do behind the scenes.

Rockhampton's Katrina Norton is priming herself up for the biggest break of her life next week - a chance to join modelling royalty if she wins the International Lingerie Model competition at the Gold Coast on August 5.

But like any other devoted parent Katrina's day-to-day life revolves around her family, fiance Trent Clarke and her daughter Bree, 4.

The life of a model is pretty simple when you consider Katrina's. A daily schedule starts at 6am when she takes her border collie Finch for a walk before returning to organise little Bree for kindy.

Once all the morning duties are done, Katrina hits the gym for a cardio and weights session.

If there is time, she then swings over to her fiance's workplace to help out with activities at the indoor sports arena in Hollingsworth St.

By trade Katrina is a professional make-up artist for important occasions, including weddings and birthdays.

Yesterday when she spoke to The Morning Bulletin she said her daughter was following in her footsteps.

She said her aim in the near future was for herself and her daughter to grace commercial pamphlets as a mother- daughter modelling duo.
