Wave of smiles

THE Far North Coast branch of the Disabled Surfers Association will be taking to the water from 10am-1pm this Saturday at Clarkes Beach, Byron Bay.

DSA is a national organisation, with 15 branches throughout Australia and one in New Zealand, taking people with disabilities out for a safe surfing experience.

Putting smiles on dials is the group's motto and this weekend's event is also a celebration of the International Day of People with Disability.

The Far North Coast Branch of DSA runs monthly events from Kingscliff to Byron Bay, Evans Head, Yamba and Minnie Waters.

The Byron Surf Festival supported the group this year together with new sponsors Munch Crunch Organics and Mullumbimby Integral Health. They have also received an equipment donation from Stone & Wood.

For more info on the national organisation, go to: disabledsurfers.org or check their Facebook page at:facebook.com/ DSAFarNorthCoast.
