A TOOWOOMBA snake catcher has captured the moment a brown snake tries to eat another live brown snake.

Toowoomba Snake Catchers 24/7 shared the video on its Facebook page, and it is certainly not something you see every day.

The two snakes were found on a property, outside near a water tank, with one brown slowly swallowing the other.

When snake catcher Dave Wiedman bends down to stop the cannibalism, the larger snake regurgitates the other.

"It's the first time I've seen a brown eat a brown and as soon as I came onto it, he regurgitated it and didn't want a bar of it," he said.

The smaller brown snake died as a result of the attack.

The larger snake was relocated.
