CLIVE Palmer has opened his much-talked about Palmersaurus theme park to hundreds of eager visitors.

A large crowd gathered outside the dinosaur park, located inside his Palmer Coolum Resort.

The Fairfax MP was joined by Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin for the launch.

The park has 160 moving and roaring dinosaurs, making it the largest dinosaur park in the world.

Palmersaurus project manager, Andrew Miller, said the park features a range of dinosaurs, big and small.

"The dinosaurs range in length from 2.5 metres to 22 metres long and have heights spanning one metre right up to 10 metres," he said.

There is also a large range of dinosaurs including the favourites such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptors, Triceratops, and Brachiosauruss as well as some lesser known prehistoric creatures including Demetrodons, Gastornis and an Ankylosaur.
