Masterchef judge in scuffle with Sydney FC fan
VIDEO footage showing MasterChef judge George Calombaris involved in a scuffle with a fan at the A-League grand final last night ended with police escorting him away.
The celebrity chef, 38, was supporting Melbourne Victory, which lost the game, at Allianz Staduim in Sydney when he began arguing with a fan.
Sydney Fc beat Melbourne Victory in a penalty shoot out after extra time.
A video has emerged overnight of Calombaris embracing a blonde woman after chatting to Football Federation boss David Gallop. He then confronts Sydney supporters sitting on the grand stand.
Calombaris is shown waving his Melbourne Victory scarf before approaching a man and appearing to shove him.
The man looks visibly shocked in the footage.
As police ushered Calombaris away, fans became rowdy, hurling abuse at him.
"Take him away! Rubbish," one game goer is heard yelling at police.
Loud boos were directed at Calombaris as some fans flashed the Channel 10 chef the middle finger.
The incident comes as another blow for Calombaris after he made headlines this month for a blunder at his company that saw more than one third of his staff members incorrectly paid.
The mishap was to the tune of $2.6 million, News Corp reported.
He apologised to 162 members of his 430 team for the huge administrative bungle.
"You, our amazing team, are the key to our success. I am so sorry we have messed up and let you down on a fundamental issue," he said at the time.
"I am devastated by what has happened and we have been working extremely hard to fix this. I want to be clear that getting it right means ensuring that every single one of our team members is paid what they are entitled to under the industry award, and that any outstanding money owed to staff is rectified as our highest priority."
