GUILT FREE VB! Mass CUB boycott ends

THE boycott is over and those who had been avoiding all Carlton & United Brewing products can finally have a guilt free Victoria Bitter - or a XXXX.

The bitter dispute between unions and the beer giant - which saw 55 cleaners sacked and told to re-apply for their jobs under worse pay and conditions - has been resolved.

A statement from the Australian Council of Trade Unions, released on Twitter this afternoon said the maintenance workers would now get back to work at CUB's Abbottsford brewery in Victoria.

"This is an historic win for the union movement and all our supporters,"ACTU Sceretary Dave Oliver said.

"These 55 workers have been out on the street for nearly 180 days standing up for the rights of all workers, they will walk back into work on Monday with their jobs secure at their full pay and conditions.

"We are glad to finally be able to end the boycott on CUB products, which are once again proudly union made at Abbottsford."

"We hope that the unqualified success of this campaign is a clear indication to all employers that the sham contracting and abuse of the labour hire system will not be tolerated."
