Upgrade for hospital garden

The outdoor garden area at Byron District Hospital has been refurbished, thanks to the efforts of the hard-working members of the Byron Hospital Auxiliary.

Costing $21,000, the garden upgrade was officially opened last week by Member for Ballina Don Page.

The North Coast Area Health Service and hospital management thanked auxiliary volunteers for their support over the years.

Since July 1998, the auxiliary has raised more than $300,000, which has been used to buy vital equipment for the hospital.

Some of the equipment was on display at last week’s opening.
