Tribunal to decide on strip club

THE fate of an inner-city strip club lies in the hands of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Final submissions by objectors to The Vault on Ruthven adult entertainment venue were heard yesterday.

A final decision must be handed down within 90 days, though an earlier ruling is likely.

The company behind the club, LA Showgirls, is obviously confident about the outcome.

Window-dressing with the club's logo stickers and blacked-out windows began yesterday despite what could be a three-month wait for a decision.

The project was given the green light by Toowoomba Regional Council in January.

Its liquor licence was approved by the Queensland Liquor and Gaming Commission later that month despite almost 3000 objections from the community.

Four objections to the commission's approval had been lodged to the tribunal.
