Pac Hwy reopened, but delays still expected

UPDATE 12.20pm: THE Pacific Highway is now open between Broken Head Drive in Newrybar and Ross Lane in Tintenbar.

Although all lanes are open significant delays are being experienced.

Motorists should allow plenty of additional travel time until conditions return to normal.

 

UPDATE 11.56am: THE Pacific Highway is closed in both directions between Broken Head Road in Newrybar and Ross Lane in Tintenbar to allow for the safe movement of a wide load.

The load was parked on the Pacific Highway at Broken Head Road.

The highway is expected to reopen once the vehicle reaches Ross Lane.

Motorists are advised to delay their travel or allow plenty of additional travel time.

UPDATE 10.24am: MOTORISTS continue to experience significant delays southbound on the Pacific Highway on the Far North Coast due to a wide load making its way from Tweed Heads to Ballina.

The load is now parked on the shoulder of the Pacific Highway at Broken Head Road in Newrybar and will remain at this location until the heavy traffic has eased.

Emergency services are on site assisting with traffic flow past the vehicle.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and allow plenty of additional travel time.

INITIAL REPORT: MOTORISTS travelling southbound on the Pacific Highway near Ewingsdale are experiencing significant delays due to a wide load.

The load is being transported from Tweeds Heads to Ballina.
