Development boom in 2014 to change cityscape

TOOWOOMBA'S city scape is set to grow in 2014 with a number of major construction works on track for completion in the new year.

Developments such as the Wellcamp Brisbane West Airport stage one, Northpoint Shopping Centre and the refurbishment of the Heritage Bank building on Ruthven St will all be open for business throughout the year.

LJ Hooker Commercial Real Estate Toowoomba principal Mike Stewart said the city is currently an attractive location for developers.

"The pin has finally dropped for developers and they have realised the region's potential," Mr Stewart said.

"The momentum has grown dramatically in recent times and it has shown with the number of new construction projects popping up around town.

"I think it is great thing for the city as these major developments will attract new business to the area."

Mr Stewart said he doesn't believe the development boom is anywhere close to peaking and predicts plenty more to come.

"New transport infrastructure such as the Wellcamp airport makes us only more attractive a location," he said.

"It will be exciting to see what other new projects come to Toowoomba in the coming years."
