THE foster brother of slain Queensland schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has applied for bail.

19-year-old Trent Jordan Thorburn is facing charges of incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice relating to Tiahleigh's suspected murder, reports

On Friday, Mr Thorburn lodged an application for bail in the Brisbane Supreme Court which will be heard on December 14.

Mr Thorburn claims he's been assaulted twice while in prison by fellow prisoners, according to Corrections Minister Bill Byrne.

"The truth or otherwise of that is being established in an investigation," Mr Byrne said.

Tiahleigh Palmer's foster mother and brother have both previously faced court charged with matters relating to her murder.

Both Julene Thorburn, 54, and her 20-year-old son Josh have been out on bail since being charged with perjury and perverting the course of justice.

Her husband Rick, 56, has been charged with the schoolgirl's murder and her other son, Trent, 19, has been charged with incest.
