Three arrested for alleged involvement in murder case

HOMICIDE detectives have arrested three people after revealing the mystery disappearance of a Sydney father is being treated as a murder investigation.

Elisha "Sam" Karmas, 52, was reported missing from his Punchbowl home in August 2011 and was never seen again.

Detectives from Strike Force Flaggy arrested two men, aged 38 and 36, and a 61-year-old grandmother.

By Thursday night, the younger man had been charged with murder and the older man with accessory after the fact while the woman was assisting police with their inquiries.

Mr Karma's body had not been found, but police said they were following lines of inquiry to locate his remains.
