Thomas Markle’s unlikely new celebrity feud

MEGHAN Markle's dad is furious with Sharon Osbourne after she accused him of being an alcoholic.

Sharon urged Thomas to "get clean" and stop humiliating the Duchess on her US talk show, The Sun reports.

His friends said he was astonished at the allegation that he was a heavy drinker.

They insisted Thomas, who missed Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry last month after heart surgery, only enjoyed an occasional glass of wine with a meal. Sharon, 65, hit out after Mr Markle, 74, told The Sun he wanted to make peace with his daughter.

On her show The Talk, the Osbourne family matriarch said: "It is so obvious that you have a bad drinking problem. And it's obvious that over the last few years, you haven't been close with your daughter.

"Get yourself clean and sober and then come back. Just be happy for your daughter. Let her live her life.

"She is so dignified you should try to give a little bit of that dignity for her."

She also reckoned Meghan must "feel so humiliated, so embarrassed by her father".

And she rubbished Mr Markle's desire for a reconciliation so he can meet any future grandchildren. Sharon jibed: "He's the last person she'd tell about being pregnant."

Mr Markle fears he has been frozen out by Meghan, 36, and the royals after a paparazzi picture scandal.

A friend said Mr Markle was stung by Sharon's attack.

The source said: "He's shocked about these claims. It's totally untrue and he's been through enough with his recent health issues without people making these sorts of allegations.

"He's livid. Utterly furious. Sharon Osbourne doesn't know him at all. How dare she say these things."

Sharon's husband Ozzy, 69, and daughter Kelly, 33, have both struggled with addiction.
