Great Endeavour Rally leaves for Port Douglas

THE 2013 Queensland Great Endeavour Rally started in Caloundra yesterday, with about 150 participants off on a 3000km fundraising journey to Port Douglas.

Teams were flagged-off at Caloundra RSL at one-minute intervals during a family fun day which featured entertainment and activities for all ages.

The cars headed inland to Kingaroy and from there will venture north via stunning and remote locations including Theodore (south-west of Biloela), Mount Chalmers (near Rockhampton), Collinsville (west of Bowen), Einasleigh (south-west of Tully) and Rossville (south of Cooktown) before reaching the finish line in Port Douglas on July 20.

Six Endeavour Foundation clients are travelling with the rally, including Henry Evans, who has worked at the foundation's Maroochydore centre for more than 30 years.

"I've never been on a car rally before so I'm really excited about going," Henry said.
