EVERYONE else may have been sweating it up in the crowds, but there were a few happy campers chilling out poolside.

If you looked hard enough in the camping area at Falls Festival Byron Bay you would have found an oasis from the heat.

A pool party was set up to keep campers cool.

Sunscreen, a cold drink and a quick wash of the feet before entering was all that was required to gain entry.

And of course the balance of the sexes, "one sausage to two tacos" is what organisers deemed the right ratio.

"It's really about keeping the pool safe," said Dan Best who helped organise the event.

"Falls Festival likes to have little festivals going on within the festival, so that's why they organise these sorts of things."

Fabi Porto, from the Gold Coast, who was thrown in the deep end, literally, was more than happy to cool off between bands. "We were inside to see Chet Faker earlier, but now we're just chilling out before we head back in later for Rufus and Flight Facilities."

The pool party continues today for those who can find it.
