Telstra to sell-off 70% share of the White Pages

TELSTRA will offload 70% of the company that publishes the White Pages for more than $450 million to a United States firm.

ABC reported on Monday Telstra will sell the majority stake in Sensis to US firm Platinum Equity, leaving Telstra with 30% of the directories company.

While the White Pages will still be published, the government is currently reviewing whether it will remain so.

But the deal will not include Sensis-operated directory assistance services, with Telstra to retain ownership of the 12456, 1234, 1223 numbers.
