A TEENAGE boy is likely to face criminal charges after tweeting how he brought a "bomb" to a packed Pink concert in Melbourne.

The boy's father says the tweet was in reference to the pop singer's song Timebomb.

Police see it differently and plan to charge him with uttering threats and causing a public nuisance.

More than 10,000 people packed Rod Laver Arena on Sunday night for the first of Pink's 18 Melbourne concerts on her current tour.

The 16-year-old boy reportedly tweeted, "@Pink I'm ready with my Bomb. Time to blowup #RodLaverArena Bitch", as she arrived on stage.
