Teen left with 45 stitches after Boxing Day attack

A TEEN had 45 stitches to wounds on his face, arm and shoulder after being attacked with a bottle at a party on Boxing Day.

Police said the 17-year-old was assaulted outside a house party in Bourke in western New South Wales on Thursday  at 3am after he got into an argument with an 18-year-old man.

The 17-year-old sustained serious lacerations to the left side of his face, right shoulder and right arm and was taken to Bourke Hospital where he received 45 stitches before being released.

Police said later in the morning the pair were involved in another argument at a different house.

During that argument the boy was allegedly punched in the face several times and had to return to hospital to have some of his stitches replaced.

Police charged a man with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and common assault.

He was refused bail to appear in court on Friday.
