Teacher dies as boy goes on shooting rampage

A TEACHER has died and two students were critically  injured after a school shooting in Nevada.

The suspected teen gunman, believed to be aged only 13 or 14, has also died. It was not immediately clear whether he had shot himself.

The middle school student opened fire on the Sparks Middle School campus in Reno just before the starting bell on Monday, wounding two boys and killing the teacher, who was trying to protect other children

"The one deceased is a staff member of the school,'' Washoe County School District police chief Mike Mieras told reporters. "The other deceased individual at this point in time appears to be a student-slash-suspect in this case.''

One of the critically injured students had been through surgery and the other was "doing well', a hospital spokesperson said.'
