Suspected drunk surfer brings out lifeguards and police
A SUSPECTED drunk woman on a surfboard has been brought to shore after evading police and lifeguards for over an hour.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said they were called about 5.55am after lifeguards noticed the woman go from the carpark into the surf.
"Obviously they had concerns for her," the spokesman said.
Water Police were considered at one point to help bring the woman in.
A witness described watching police and life guards try for over an hour to bring the woman in.
"She's just floating around the passage," the witness said.
The woman was brought in about 7am.
