Surfers qualify for Aussie titles

Three Byron Bay High School students have qualified to surf in the national school surfing titles after outstanding results at the recent state titles at Werri Beach on the South Coast.

Tommy Boucout and Henry Phillips won the boys under 16 division in challenging, chunky surf, with Tommy coming second in the under 16 individual event.

Kirsten Ogden blitzed the girls’ under 16 division, with one of her waves getting a score of 9.2 out of 10, the highest in the girls’ division.

The three paid tribute to the support they received from the school’s P & C association and Byron Bay Boardriders.
