SHE'S our own queen of style.

Now Byron Bay designer, interior stylist and TV presenter Sibella Court has cleaned up in a prestigious national award.

"Sibella has built a stellar career on doing exactly what she loves," said InStyle editor Emily Taylor.

"Her win is tribute to her amazing body of work, her influence on the design world and her distinct sense of style."

Ms Court has created interiors for restaurants, bars and retailers, as well as product ranges, including hardware and paint.

She has released five books on travel and interiors, and last year relocated her Sydney store, The Society Inc, from Sydney's Paddington to St Peters with a view to running styling workshops and flea markets.

This year, she will host the ABC-TV show Restoration Australia, which follows the revitalisation of historic properties.

She said: "I think any small-business owner faces hurdles but I don't particularly see them as hardships.

"I fund all my own adventures meaning I'm always working out my finances, deciding which projects to take on and also what to risk.

"Because of our isolation, I think Australians are good at researching what's happening in the rest of the world. We're almost a bit MacGyver in our style because we don't have everything available to us. We work directly with artists or builders on bespoke pieces."

Ms Court, 42, was joined in the Lifestyle category by Silvia Colloca (TV presenter, blogger and cookbook author) and Robyn Lawley (model, designer and cookbook author), who took out the Readers' Choice Award.
