Seven-hour stand-off in South Grafton ends in arrest

UPDATE, 11.35AM: A MAN is in custody after a seven-hour stand-off with police at South Grafton this morning.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended an industrial unit in Induna Street, shortly before 1am, intending to speak with a man, who was wanted on 19 arrest warrants.

Police formed a perimeter around the unit and initiated negotiations with the man.

About 8.40am a 46-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

He has been taken to Grafton Police Station for questioning.

No shots were fired during the incident.

 

UPDATE, 11.10AM: IT IS believed a man has been arrested following an incident at a South Grafton business this morning. 

The Daily Examiner is waiting for police comment. 

 

EARLIER: A STREET in South Grafton was closed to the public this morning as police attending the property of a local business.

At 9.45am this morning at least three police vehicles were still at the scene in Induna St, with police tape surrounding the property.

It is understood Induna St was closed to the public but has since reopened.

The Daily Examiner is currently seeking comment from police.
