Stolen animals found in suburban home
ALLIGATORS allegedly stolen from a NSW zoo have been found in a suburban home along with two deadly snakes and a pair of rare goannas.
Two American alligators, 60-80cms long, and six pythons were reported missing from a Hunter Valley Zoo on Monday.
Police found the alligators and an array of other reptiles in a Cessnock home late Thursday.
There was no sign of the six missing snakes - a water python, woma python, Murray Darling python, black headed python and two diamond pythons - but police did find a highly venomous inland taipan, death adder and two lace monitor goannas.
A 27-year-old Cessnock man was charged with offences relating protected animals.
He was released on conditional bail and will front court on October 24.
