Special locals rate for theatre

The Byron Bay Community Centre has introduced a special locals rate for the hire of its theatre.

Launched this month, the venue hire packages are aimed to entice local residents and community groups from Byron, Ballina, Lismore and the Tweed regions to take advantage of the centre's quality facilities.

Usually valued at $790, locals will receive a standard theatre package for only $540.

This comprehensive package encompasses six hours of theatre hire, four hours of technician staff time, front-of-house staff including ushers and the availability of food and beverages for patrons.

In addition, the package also offers promotional opportunities such as listings on the centre's website and online newsletter.

A 'no frills' hourly rate is also available.

Venue co-ordinator Becky Buckwell said the 246-seat theatre was perfect for performances, film screenings, workshops and conferences.

“The discounted local's rate is extremely generous, considering the theatre's quality fittings and modern technology including a bio-box, LCD projector and exceptional light and sound equipment,” she said.
