Sparky's shock recovery

SPARKY is one lucky mountain brushtail possum. Well, as lucky as you can get after being electrified.

Vets at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Hospital have saved the small male possum after a shocking incident at Mt Tamborine.

Senior vet Michael Pyne said Sparky was much worse when he arrived six weeks ago.

“He had really bad (external) injuries.

"These probably were the worst injuries I‘ve seen visually,” he said.

All going well, Sparky will be released back into the wild in two weeks.

The sanctuary rescued and rehabilitated 6500 animals in the past 12 months, and survives on public donations.
