16% of work sexual harrassment claims from men

WOMEN are not the only people suffering from sexual harassment at work - about 16% of reported complaints are made by men.

Queensland University of Technology and RMIT research released on Wednesday also showed that 11% of reported complaints involved men harassing other men.

About 5% of cases involved women harassing women, and 78% were men harassing women.

The study analysed complaints to Australian equal opportunity commissioners in the six months between July and December 2009.

The study was the first to examine such cases across the country.
