CHAMPION fullback Billy Slater has done it all again this season.

He helped the Maroons win the Origin series and was magnificent in the Storm's 14-4 grand final victory over Canterbury.

Personal pride will be driving him this Saturday night as he attempts to finish his season on a high in the one-off Test against New Zealand at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

But speaking at training in Townsville yesterday, Slater said his main goal going into the Trans-Tasman clash was to help the Kangaroos build for their shot at World Cup redemption next year.

"I'm not looking at this as a personal feat to pick up this one. It's about us as a team and building for next year," he said.

Slater said containing big Storm forwards Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor, the latter in his NZ debut, would not be easy.

"Jesse's a big bopper and he's got some good skill in the middle of the park, and Kevvy on the edges is very elusive," Slater said. "The boys are going to have their hands full on the front line."

The battle between star five-eighths, Australia's Johnathan Thurston, and New Zealand's Benji Marshall, is sure to be a highlight.

Thurston said: "They've got strike power all over the park and Benji's the leader of that team. He'll be looking to lead them from the front."
