Senior will have zing in swing

Peter Senior will have an extra spring in his step and zing in his swing when he steps out for the Fiducian Legends Australian PGA Seniors Championship at Byron Bay Golf Club in two weeks.

Senior created history last week by becoming the first Australian to take honours at the US Champions Tour Qualifying School, earning a tour card for next year.

He will be joining the likes of defending champion Noel Ratcliffe, Rodger Davis, Mike Ferguson, David Merriman and Garry Merrick in the $80,000 event to be played over 54 holes.

Before teeing off at Byron Bay, Senior, who has been in hot recent form, will compete in the Australian Open and the Australian PGA championship.

He said he was really looking forward to playing at Byron Bay as it would be his first Legends Australian PGA Seniors Championship – and his first hit at Byron Bay.

“I’ve been playing really well on the seniors circuit, so it would be great to finish the year off on a high note,” he said.

The event will be held at Byron Bay from December 18 to 20.
