NORTHBOUND traffic on the Pacific Highway was blocked for several hours this morning after a semi-trailer was destroyed by fire.

The accident happened about 7.30 am, 300m south of the Barneys Point Bridge at Chinderah.

Police and fire officers attended the crash and the highway reopened at 10.30am.
