School's 'one stop shop' on Bangalow's biggest day
BANGALOW Public School's new Pit Stop fair will be taking over the school's grounds from 9am-3pm this Sunday during this year's Bangalow Billycart Derby.
The Pit Stop is the school's major annual fundraiser and was formerly known as The Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
"After many years, we now say a fond farewell to the Mad Hatters and welcome the Pit Stop, a billycart-themed fun fair for the entire community," school principal Larissa Polak said.
"The Pit Stop will be your one-stop-shop for all your family action on Bangalow's biggest day, so meet us at the finish line.
"Featuring all the fun elements of a classic school fete, kids can take part in games, art and craft activities, have a carnival ride or two and play between derby races.
"Families can check out the stalls or relax in the school grounds while enjoying yummy coffee and delicious food."
All money raised on the day and in the giant raffle will go directly to funding resources at the school.
"The money raised allows us to fund the purchase of high-quality classroom resources to support learning, creative arts and technology and our wellbeing programs," Ms Polak said.
"We love seeing our kids and their families having fun on this great community day and we are always humbled by the generosity of our parents and the broader community in their support of our school."
The giant raffle will be drawn on Sunday and prizes include a trip for two courtesy of Trip a Deal, Two Splendour in the Grass tickets, an autographed Socceroos jersey from Tim Cahill, a Norpa annual subscription, Gold Coast Titans footy jersey signed by entire team, Gaia Day Spa pamper session and much, more more.
The school's legendary cake stall will also be laden with treats, while pulled pork and ribs will also be available as well as coffee, kids craft, choc shot, rides, face painting, hair chalking and a lemonade stand. Plants from the school garden club will be sold, too.
Raffle tickets will be on sale before noon at the Pit Stop.
