MKR judges pose with residents before filming TV show
AFTER the Daily Mercury went on a Manu hunt yesterday, more local businesses are sharing their own encounters with the saucy Frenchman.
Kevin's Place owner Kelly Ahwang said the MKR pair tucked into some of their famous five-spice calamari on Monday night.
"They loved it," Ms Ahwang said.
"It was a bit nerve-wracking serving them but we welcomed them to Mackay, they were really lovely and approachable and posed for a photo with our waitress Indira Edwards".

HUNCHED over a table in the corner, dressed in black and wearing a black cap, a famous French chef and popular TV personality barely caused a stir in the Mackay CBD yesterday.
While Manu Feildel wanted to keep a low profile having lunch at BURP yesterday, photos soon popped up across social media of the delectable My Kitchen Rules judge in the region, along with his foodie partner in crime Pete Evans.
When word of Manu's appearance at the popular Wood St restaurant rippled across Facebook, the Daily Mercury dashed down town faster than you can say "more sauce please".
Hoping to score an interview with the celebrity chef, we were disappointed when we were told he was "switched off".
While he preferred to dine in peace and "update his Instagram and social media accounts" away from the cameras, Manu still made time to stop for a few selfies with local fans.
Cassie Romano was lucky enough to bump into the sexy Frenchman outside the Palace Hotel yesterday.
"I asked him what he was doing in Mackay and he said they are filming for the next season of MKR," she said. "He said that a couple from Mackay will be competing in the next season. Then I just asked for a selfie. He was lovely... he even helped with the lighting of the selfie!"
Rumour has it the TV series has been filming in the region for weeks, with whispers the MKR crew was spotted cooking wood-fired pizzas at a popular beach spot and also seen in Coles at Caneland Central yesterday.
Just before the Daily Mercury went to print last night, couples were seen walking up a driveway in Rural View, a la 'MKR instant restaurant' style, prompting the conclusion we will soon have our very own Mackay MKR couple on the next series.
