Mullum Garden Festival includes Costa and skateboards

THE Living Earth Festival at Mullumbimby will this year expand to the Mullum Skate Park for the seventh annual Rukkus Skate Comp.

The festival runs from 10am-10pm on Father's Day, Sunday, September 1, at Mullumbimby Community Gardens.

Organisers have also engaged Donna Grey, of Green Gene Kids, to create an experiential, educational and creative program for kids of all ages at the gardens."Money raised from this festival will go towards building a complete outdoor education centre for the entire community," Ms Grey said.

From noon until 5pm there will be workshops for children including Growing Fun with ABC TV's Costa Georgiadis, Alison Drover's Fork in the Field and Donna Grey's Green Smoothies workshop that helps children transition from processed to living foods.

The Rukkus Skate Comp will provide non-stop action over at the skate park, with six age divisions, pro skateboarder judges, and prizes and giveaways in each category.

Bring your own skateboard. Entry fee is $5, meal included.

At 7pm in the skate park, there'll be an open air screening of the Cirque du Soleil/James Cameron film Worlds Away.

Bring a blanket, camp chairs and a hamper from the Community Garden.
