Rolf Harris booted out of ARIA Hall of Fame after conviction
ROLF Harris will be stripped of his ARIA Hall of Fame honour, the Australian Recording Industry Association announced today.
The entertainer's induction will be revoked after a UK court found him guilty of indecent assault against four girls overnight.
"Following his conviction in UK courts, the ARIA Board has made the decision to withdraw the ARIA Hall of Fame award bestowed upon Rolf Harris," said ARIA chief executive officer Dan Rosen.
The Tie Me Kangaroo Down singer was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association's Hall of Fame in 2008 for his contribution to the Australian music industry.
Harris is likely to also be stripped of his Member of the Order of Australia (AO)and Member of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) honours.
Harris is to be sentenced on Friday.
