Risqué weekend in the Northern Rivers

NEVER mind the weather outside, temperatures will soar indoors at a number of adult-oriented events in the Northern Rivers this weekend.

Kinky Dinner (Lismore):

The first one is called Lismore Kink Dinner, to be held this Saturday at a Lismore CBD cafe.

Organisers are calling all locals interested to gather in their kinkiest gear for the dining event.

"Time to gear up, get your kink on, and chill out for dinner with other kinksters over dinner. It is time," says the Facebook event created for the occasion.

"We have the full restaurant for our kinky-selves all evening".

"Substantial and large selection of finger food provided by the restaurant, drinks at bar prices, live music and a fetish show," the invite reads.

If you are interested in going, phone Nathan on 0411 114 401.

Beauty within Restraint (Mullumbimby):

Inspired by ancient Japanese lore and drawing on local and international creative artists, this event will offer a rare showcase of erotic culture, power and passion through Kinbaku / Shibari (Japanese words associated to bondage), spoken word, Oriental music and sword dance.

Organisers promised to "challenge and delight" the audience with emotive and explorative expressions of their art.

During the event, "the audience can dip their toes in darker currents, allowing the range of emotive performances to delight and engage".

At the Mullumbimby Drill Hall, Mullumbimby, this Saturday from 7pm.

Shibari workshop: (Byron Bay)

Japan-based dominatrix Milla Reika will offer a beginner's workshop to Shibari, a traditional Japanese form of bondage using ropes.

"In this workshop I aim to give attendees a first step introduction into rope technique and work towards a deeper understanding of the basic foundations while still supplying people with something solid that they can take home at the end of the day and enjoy with their partner," she explains in the online page to promote the event.

At Kulcha Jam, 1 Acacia St, Byron Bay, this Sunday from 10am.
