Burning rubber draws thousands
THE sound of roaring engines and the smell of burning rubber delighted the thousands of fans who came out to cheer on their favourite drivers at Queensland Raceway.
The grandstand and hills overlooking the tracks were packed with spectators, cheering when their favourite car took the lead, or when a huge smash occurred, in the Ipswich SuperSprint event.
All donned in their racing merchandise, and the crowd enjoyed some playful banter among themselves as they argued why Holdens were better than Fords, and vice versa.
From little fans right up to the older revheads, the racing spectacular had something for everyone.
From Whether Looking at the trucks full of merchandise to or going into the pit for an close-up, experience, the crowd of people were certainly enjoyed the beautiful day at the races.
For young car racing fan Deegan McNamara, nothing could top the day he spent out at the track.
"This is the best day of my life," he said, with a big grin. from ear to ear.
"This is the first time I have ever been here and I love it."
His friends Tyler and Joshua Day said they loved the sounds of the cars racing around the track.
"They are fast, they look good and they are really loud," Tyler said excitedly.
Stephanie Scott from Yamanto is no stranger to Queensland Raceway, with having been to a few racing events over the years.
"I love the sound of the cars, the smell of the burning rubber and of course the big crashes," Ms Scott said.
She enjoyed showing Bev and Michaela Hangan from Amberley all the fun you can have at the car races.
And fun was certainly the name of the game at another successful event.
