Retreat and just relax

AFTER enduring 10 years of pain and trauma Kerrie Gleeson found a refuge in a waterfront paradise at River Heads, and now she is opening her doors to give others the chance to do the same.

The former hairdresser turned life coach has turned her River Heads property, Shalom, into a wellness retreat.

The retreat caters to women who need some time out either on their own or with a group of friends or family.

Ten years ago Ms Gleeson and her husband were involved in a fatal car crash at Tiaro which claimed the life of a baby.

Ms Gleeson herself received serious injuries and her husband, who suffered permanent brain damage, never fully recovered.

At the time of the accident, they were driving back to Sydney just after buying the property on which the retreat now stands.

Following months of hospital treatment Ms Gleeson and her husband decided to move back to the area.

In 2006 he was tragically taken from her, and while it took many years of getting through her grief, Ms Gleeson said she had learned to mend spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally.

She believes Shalom, with its luxury accommodation, swimming pool and breathtaking views, could help others repair those areas of their lives.

All who stay can choose to be left alone or take advantage of Ms Gleeson’s life coaching. Naturopaths, masseurs and beauty therapists can also be organised.
