Report to be released on inquiry into mining licences

THE NSW corruption watchdog is preparing to release its report on an inquiry into the allocation of the state's mining exploration licences.

Operation Acacia examined the issues surrounding an invitation to Doyles Creek Pty Ltd to apply for a coal mining exploration licence and coincided with investigations into the actions of former NSW Labor ministers Ian MacDonald and Eddie Obeid.

The report will be tabled in NSW Parliament this Friday.

A further report, which deals with questions raised by NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell about whether State Government should launch legal proceedings against people and companies involved in the mining scandal, is expected to be released next month.
