Renegades stunned by Agar and Bravo injury

THE Perth Scorchers' Ashton Agar broke Renegade hearts with a last-ball six securing a dramatic victory on the night the Melbourne team lost superstar all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

With the Scorchers set nine runs for victory from the final over, captain Aaron Finch bowled himself with Bravo (hamstring) stretchered off with three overs up his sleeve.

Mitch Marsh holed out on the rope to Finch's second delivery and the skipper threw down counterpart Adam Voges' stumps with his third ball.

With three runs required from the final delivery, Agar slogged the part-timer over the rope to deliver the Scorchers a perfect 6-0 record against the Renegades.

Now the Melbourne team must find a replacement for Bravo for Sunday's MCG blockbuster against the Stars.

Bravo has been booked for scans today and Cricket Australia confirmed the Renegades can replace him with a local or world import - with a medical certificate.

Former Renegade, Englishman Alex Hales, is in Melbourne playing Premier Cricket for Fitzroy Doncaster and could strengthen the top-order firepower for the New Year's Day clash.

Bravo was the team's best player last summer.

After the Renegades posted a modest 8-148, Shaun Marsh and Michael Klinger put on 36 before West Indies import Sunil Narine removed Marsh.

The Scorchers made hard work of a target that appeared about 20 runs short.

They required 72 runs with eight overs remaining.

The Renegades' top four - Aaron Finch (24 off 14), Marcus Harris (25 off 24), Cameron White (37 off 29) and Callum Ferguson (28 off 21) - all holed out.
