FOOTAGE has emerged of the moment a light plane lost power over Brisbane's bayside two weeks ago.

The footage, taken inside the cockpit of the Jabiru J-170 and aired on ABC News, captured the events as the plane lost power over Victoria Point and crash landed in a horse paddock on August 20.

The emergency landing carried out by 22-year-old flight instructor Doug Field has been described as ''textbook perfect''.

Mr Field was with 18-year-old student Josh Matica on his first training flight when the plane lost power and began gliding.

The young instructor took the controls from Mr Matica, but could not regain power.

He was forced to land the plane in a horse paddock, ending up in a barbed wire fence.
